Fees

Priory Park Preschool is a registered provider under the Early Years Education (EYE) Grant Scheme. Please note that this is not a means tested Scheme and from the term following your child’s 3rd birthday until the term in which they have their 5th birthday, every child in England is entitled to receive the EYE grant. Currently, the Grant covers up to 15 – 30 hours of childcare per week. The hours that your child attends the Preschool can vary on a day to day basis 15 -30 hours free which can be extended with extra paid for hours.

Each term whilst your child attends the Preschool you will be asked to sign a form to confirm that you are not claiming more than 15 – 30 hours of free childcare.

If you do require extra hours they can be requested and paid for separately (please see below for fees for extra hours).

Preschool fees are set by the Parent Committee and are reviewed annually, any changes being implemented from 1st April in the same year. Currently, the hourly charge at the Preschool is £6.25ph. Parents and carers will be notified of any change in the cost prior to the end of the Spring term.

Voluntary Contribution

In addition to this there is a daily charge of £2.50 for half day sessions and £3.50 for full day sessions which will be invoiced half termly. This is a voluntary contribution helps with the costs of everyday items such as wipes, paper towels, handwash, Sun cream and snacks etc. Fees continue to be payable if a child is absent due to holiday or sickness
This contribution is entirely voluntary, but it plays a crucial role in ensuring we can continue to offer free, flexible funding to all families. Because of this support, it allows us to offer your hours for you to use however you wish – so that we can fully support you in your needs for childcare.
This contribution enables us to provide a service to you and your families that goes above and beyond the basic needs of a preschool.
For example – a basic preschool will provide enough basic resources so that your child can access the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, enough staff to just cover ratios and a basic snack. This also is enough to allow staff basic training in Effective Safeguarding and First Aid.
With the extra support from our families, it allows us to go above and beyond to provide an enriched environment for your children to learn and achieve their highest potential whilst in our care. It enables us to invite outside companies into our preschool to provide extra-curriculum activities that not all children may be able to access.
It allows us to provide a healthy variety of fruits and vegetables, and other produces for your children to learn about and try during snack! It allows us to buy resources that can teach children above the expectations found in the basic curriculum – allowing your children the opportunities to flourish before their school life has begun.
This voluntary contribution goes towards other items such as activities for our end of year celebrations, Mothers/Father’s Day activities, Easter and Christmas activities, wipes, nappies, sun cream, paper towels, tissues and items that we need and use to help parents.
We use these extra funds to train our staff in other areas of the Early Years to allow us to provide the highest of quality of care, ensuring that our team are always learning to provide current, up to date childcare for our children.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Should My Child Wear to Preschool?

Some activities can be messy and some children do worry about getting their clothes dirty. If a parent can say and mean that it does not matter about paint splattered clothes then the activity can really be enjoyed without feeling guilty afterwards! Because of this we suggest that play clothes are worn, together with footwear suitable for running and climbing. We request that flip flops and crocs are not worn to preschool as these do not offer the correct support needed to safely play.

May I Join My Child During Their Preschool Session?

All of the children enjoy seeing and talking to new people and research has proven that a Preschool child will learn far more when a parent or carer shows interest in what they are doing. Because of this, we encourage parents and carers to join us during their child’s session at the Preschool.

Can My Child Bring Items from Home into Preschool?

We encourage the children to bring in things that are linked to the theme of the week. The children are always pleased to find things at home and then show them in Preschool (your help with this is very valuable and helps to form the link between home and Preschool). We do ask that these are smaller items and any super precious items are left at home though – we would be upset if this got lost or ruined whilst at Preschool.

How Do I Join the Parent Committee?

Please speak to a member of the team and they will be able to help. Our preschool cannot run without a Parent Committee, so we really do appreciate parents getting involved. Everyone is welcome – parents, carers, even grandparents!
